Some commonly used repositories include:
- DataCite makes research more effective by connecting research outputs and resources–from data and preprints to images and samples. They support the creation and management of DOIs and metadata records, including for IGSN identifiers.
- DataONECross-repository discovery for Earth and environmental science data. Resource for publishing datasets that may not fit neatly elsewhere.
- DryadAn open data publishing platform and a community committed to the open availability and routine re-use of all research data.
- FigShareProvider of open research repository infrastructure. Resource for publishing datasets that may not fit neatly elsewhere.
- An open online data repository for researchers from all disciplines, to share, preserve, cite, explore, and analyze research data.
- IODPOcean sub-seafloor drilling cores samples and data.
- MorphoSourceResource for discovering 3D data, as well as publishing 3D data related to fossil specimens.
- MorphoBankDatabase of peer-reviewed morphlogical matrices for taxa both modern and fossil.
- NeotomaNeotoma supports global-change research and education via open, community-curated data and services for paleoecological and paleoenvironmental data.
- Open Science FrameworkCollaboration tool to support researchers throughout their entire project lifecycle.
- PANGAEADigital data library and a data publisher for earth system science. Good source for georeferenced data about microfossils, sediment cores, and pollen.
- SGPPortal for sedimentary geochemical data with sample-level context (lithology, fossils, stratigraphy, geochronology, depositional environment).
- ZenodoGeneralist, FAIR-compliant repositories for a range of disciplines.
